Renault Kwid Climber Specifications, Complete Safety Features

Renault Kwid Climber Specifications, –gnewscar.comComplete Safety Features, Still on a discussion similar to the previous review, today we are back to explore the features that exist in the Renault Kwid where the addition of safety features is a major part to reckon with.

Renault revealed that it will bring Triber and the new variant of Kwid Climber to Indonesia. Introductions will be scheduled for July to wait for fans of this French brand in the country.

In addition to Triber which has attracted attention and made Indonesia the second country to sell it, Kwid Climber also needs to have its own discussion. This city car comes with several updates from the previous Kwid model.

Kwid Climber still uses a 999 cc DOHC 3-cylinder engine with 68 tk of power at 5,500 rpm and 91 Nm of torque at 4250 rpm. This engine is labeled Renault Smart Control Efficiency (SCe) which makes this car able to provide economical fuel consumption.

In India, the Climber variant is offered in two transmission choices namely a five-speed manual transmission and a five-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) transmission. Interestingly this automatic transmission is not in the form of a lever but in the form of a rotary knob on the dashboard with a pointer Reverse (R) – Neutral (N) – Drive (D).

Safety Features Renault Kwid

Don’t expect too much from this Renault Kwid figure. Because from the hit-and-run test results, Kwid is in the unsafe category. Based on testing from ASEAN NCAP, the Indian-made Renault Kwid sold in Indonesia is very far from perfect.

Renault Kwid did not get a star at all after undergoing various tests from ASEAN NCAP in 2018. This Indian-made city car did not get any stars at a score of 10.12 points for the test results for adult passenger protection or Adult Occupant Protection (AOP).

Safety features include ABS + EBD brakes, driver’s airbag, safety belt reminder, and speed limit. From the entertainment side Kwid Climber presents a 17.64 cm touch screen with navigation, AUX IN, USB, Apple Car Play, Android Auto, and Voice recognition and video player. Additional comfort comes from the armrest on the second bench.

For the exterior appearance, the Climber gets a special color that is Electric Blue combined with a touch of orange that makes this car look sporty. This striking color touch is also given to the interior, which is seen in the seats, dash and door trim.

It is worth waiting for the arrival of the Kwid update in Indonesia. Moreover, Maxindo Renault Indonesia (MRI) has revealed that it will bring an automatic transmission variant that has been anticipated when Kwid was first introduced in the country in 2016 ago.

The interior of the Renault Kwid

Let’s for a moment forget about the bad safety features of Kwid. In the next review we will discuss the interior of the Renault Kwid which is better when compared to LCGC. Because of its slightly larger stature compared to LCGC, it makes the cabin more spacious. The cabin design and its features are also modern and don’t seem old-fashioned even if simple.

Comfort Features Mono-tone dashboard
Plain digital instrument cluster
Parking brake console
USB & Auxiliary Input

On the dashboard, the driver is presented with a digital instrument panel for the speedometer with also digital odometer. Unfortunately, information on the Indian version of the Kwid speedometer is also limited. The instrument panel only displays turn signal indicators, safety belt warning lights, fog lamps and far-near lights. I actually remembered the speedometer design was similar to the latest motor sport.
