Almost all the latest cars already use injection engine technology. In a carburetor engine, the fuel system will pump a mixture of fuel and air through piston movements inside. While the injection engine, air and fuel will be mixed, then pumped with the injector system automatically. As a result, the power generated by injection cars is even greater.

Car injection uses an Engine Fuel Injection (EFI) system in the process of supplying fuel to the car’s gasoline chamber. The EFI system uses an electric type fuel pump that is in-tank and has its own components.

There are eleven fuel pump components contained in this type, but all of them are tasked with one goal, which is to pump fuel to all parts of the car engine. In order for AutoFamily to understand the injection car fuel pumping system, let’s recognize the components one by one.

1. Filter

It is not impossible that there is dirt that goes into gasoline, such as leaves or dust. Therefore, there is a filter component or strainer that serves to filter dirt in it so that gasoline remains sterile before entering the fuel pump.

2. Inlet Port

The fuel pump component becomes the fuel entry when the impeller starts to spin. Usually, this inlet port is an integral component of the filter or strainer, so gasoline flows directly into it.

3. Outlet Port

It is a component that serves as a fuel exit so that it still flows to the fuel line. Before entering the fuel line, there is also fuel in the fuel pump that is used as a coolant or lubricant.

4. Blade

This blade is an integral component part of the impeller. The blade’s function is to pump fuel from the inlet port to the outlet port. So, between the two types of ports there is a blade that can facilitate the process of gasoline flow.

5. Impeller

This impeller is a component that is directly connected to the armature, even the way the impeller works follows the armature. The impeller rotates because there is a rotational movement of the armature. The spin generated by this impeller will rotate the blade, which is eventually able to pump fuel into the outlet port.

6. Magnet

Its function is to provide magnetic energy from the armature so that there is a rotary force in the component. The energy produced is in the form of electromagnets, because armature requires the flow of electric current to be able to move. This energy will be contrary to pure magnetism in the fuel pump in order to move the armature.

7. Armature

Serves to rotate the impeller, so that there is a fuel pumping process. This component consists of a winding on an iron core, then turns into a magnet when there is an electrical flow resulting in electromagnetic energy. Armature can only work because of this energy.

8. Brush

The function of the brush is to bring electrical energy from its source to the armature coil so that it can move in the process of pumping fuel.

9. Relief Valve

When there is excess fuel pressure in the flow, that pressure will be discharged with the relief valve component. This excessive pressure occurs due to a blockage in the fuel line. If not removed, it will cause damage to other fuel pump components.

10. Check Valve

Its function is to store fuel pressure in the fuel line when the car engine is turned off. When the engine is turned on, the process is not long because there is a fuel stock in this check valve. In fact, the injector becomes easier to drain fuel to the cylinder part of the engine.

11. Casing

Lastly, the casing component that becomes the fuel pump cover. Simply put, this casing is the location where all the fuel pump components are installed. Usually, the casing is made of plate sheets and is shaped like a tube.
